What I found the most off putting about this beautiful location.. is that the service is so poor for such a small hotel. I have called well over a dozen times and get a recording everytime with call back message.. I find it hard to believe they get any phone bookings.. if its not a straight forward booking and you have any questions.. forget it.. reception/reservations never answer the phone.. weird.. as i travel a lot for work... and I'm always able to call ahead and actually speak to someone immediately anywhere in the world.. except Sebel Margate..
Staff were amazing. They went above and beyond. Room was - WOW. The place looks extremely well maintained. Was only 30 seconds from the beach. Would highly recommend.
Friendly enough at check-in, we entered our room and it was really nice and modern. Then we noticed the floors were filthy with beach sand and the balcony floor with hair and dirt. I contacted reception and requested for them to be cleaned.We popped down to the bar for a bit and on our return they had been cleaned in the main walking areas but that was it. Balcony remained untouched and the room just needed a good going over. That aside, enjoyed the pool and rooftop area even tho the bar is closed except weekends which is a shame because it's a great spot. In the morning, we were awoken to bins being empty at 7am (our room was above the carpark entrance). We then decided to order room service for breakfast and what do you know, no menu... as stated that there should be in their information book. So we went to cafe63. Anyhow, this is my reasons for a 3 star review.
The stay here made our Christmas spectacular! The rooftop pool area was stunning. On our first night we ordered room service - I thought it might be too late to order but it arrived really quickly and the food was absolutely incredible. We stayed at the most busy time of the year, Christmas eve and Christmas Day and to their credit, the staff were extremely friendly. They all made us feel like we were at an exclusive resort with five star facilities. I will definitely return. It would be a great place to host a function, especially on the roof top area. I don't know of any other roof top bars and pools with these facilities in the Brisbane area, it really is worth a look.
Without a doubt one of, if not the best place Ive ever stayed!! Absolutely loved the rooms, had a gentlemans room feel about it nice colours etc and the restaurant downstairs provided some of the best eating Ive had in a long time all meals were consistently amazing! The Barman I asked to make cocktails of his own choosing which were incredible. Once again absolutely amazing place and I will be back again and recommending to everyone. Well done team.
